San Diego County Supervisor Joel Anderson awarded nearly 50 Ramona organizations and businesses with almost $1 million in grants on Feb. 13 at the Ramona Chamber of Commerce office.

Eight received grants for specific projects and programs, securing the funding through the county’s Neighborhood Reinvestment Program and the Community Enhancement Program.

These included Ramona Archway Association, Ramona Pioneer Historical Society, Ramona Skatepark Champions, Ramona Chamber of Commerce, Archie G. Macarthur VFW Post 3783, Skatefight American Jiu-Jitsu, Wildlife Research Institute and Ramona Soccer League, which split $383,000.

Another 40 were awarded a total of $605,750 from the Small Business Stimulus Grant, which started in 2021 and was recognized by Anderson that night as well.

“Keep up the great work,” Anderson said to the grant recipients.
