The original motion proposed by Supervisor Joel Anderson was to explore ways to increase homeless services specifically in the East County district he represents.
Anderson’s proposal calls for the chief administrative officer to return to the board within 120 days with locations and funding plans for emergency shelters on property and buildings, preferably in the unincorporated area. Locations also would be identified for safe parking lots for people who live in vehicles, and associated services for people served at shelters and parking lots also would be identified.
