In November 2025, the San Diego County Board of
Supervisors approved Supervisors Anderson and Aguirre's Board Letter
establishing the County's new Fiscal Accountability & Transparency
ad-hoc Subcommittee.
The Subcommittee's purpose is to
carefully review and evaluate all existing County contracts to find
savings and ensure that taxpayer dollars are being used efficiently.
Currenty, the County spends about $2.2 Billion annually, or
approximately 25% of our entire budget on contracts. This is important
because it is a major area where the County has discretion and control
over our spending.
The Subcommittee's first meeting, open to the public, will be held on Wednesday, March 18th at the County Administration Center 1600 Pacific Hwy, Room 310 (Third Floor) from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
