Excerpt from Poway News Chiefan (p. 19)
San Diego County Supervisor Joel Anderson is co-hosting a First-Time Homeowners Buyers Workshop on Thursday, Sept. 28 in Rancho Bernardo with the North San Diego County Association of Realtors and Pacific Southwest Association of Realtors.
This free event will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at San Diego Oasis in the “Torrey Pines Room,” 17170 Bernardo Center Drive.
The workshop is an opportunity for residents to learn about county resources available to assist them throughout their homeownership journey. The event will feature a panel covering multiple topics, including the overall mortgage process, financial and tax implications, downpayment and assistance programs, and homeowner insurance and resources.
Speakers will include 2023 North San Diego County Realtors President Bill Richard, Caliber Home Loans Team Sales Manager Phana Par, Edward Jones Financial Advisor Zoe Khetani, Point Mortgage Loan Officer Cheryl Zenski, and California Department of Education Outreach Analyst Sharon Smith.
“Homeownership is key to creating generational wealth and opportunities for your family,” Anderson said. “One of my greatest priorities as county supervisor is to create more attainable housing opportunities for San Diegans. I am excited to work with our community partners to provide an informative event for those looking to buy their first home.”
While the event is free, an RSVP is requested at bit.ly/HomeBuyersWkshp23 or by calling Supervisor Anderson’s office at 619-531-5522 to ensure there is enough seating for all.
